Halloween Party at the Hawley's!

Well the Halloween party was a hugh success...how could it not be??? Gather about 60+ kids and their crazy parents, dress them up in silly costumes, give them a bunch of yummy food and candy and let them run wild... (parents included) - It was a Halloween to be remembered!

And once my computor tech. (Nate) arrives back on island, I will be able to figure out how to post the Truck-or-Treat photos from the school party on Halloween night...so stay posted for more Halloween fun!

Wonderful World of Sea Turtles!

A couple Friday's ago, I was headed out the door to take the kids to school when I got a phone call from Nate...Some Sea Turtles had hatched and the Conservation Officers (from Nate's office - Fish and Wildlife) were holding them for us to see! Off we went!! I must admit I was sooooo very excited that while I was speeding down one of the dirt roads to the beach, I was driving so fast that Sera Ann was yelling "stop Mama, STOP"!
Once we arrived (safely, I add), the sight of the 114 baby Sea Turtle was absolutely amazing. The miracle of nature was happening right before our eyes. We all felt so lucky to be a part of it.
It was a day that we will never forget.

Here are two of the 114 babies swimming off to start their own personal journey at sea. Posted by Picasa

Tayah and Max watch the last of the baby sea turtles head out to sea...wishing them safetly and health as they continue on their amazing journey.
That's a baby sea turtle in front of Tayah - she carefully watched as the last of the babies made their way to the water...alerting the Conservation Officers if one happened to fall in a crab hole or get stuck in another unforseen obstacle.
